Due to licensing requirements, classroom students for 2-day morning Preschool, 3-day morning/afternoon Preschool, and Day School must turn 3-years-old by Sept. 30, 2017. Children turning 3-years-old by Dec. 31, 2017 are eligible for 2-day morning Preschool only. Children turning 5-years old by Sept. 30, 2017 are eligible for Kindergarten Explorers. All incoming EC students must have achieved toilet mastery.
New-to-the-Settlement Preschool, Day School, and Kindergarten families begin the admissions process by creating a new online registration account and visiting our campus either at Open House or a Parent Visit.
Enrollment in any of our early childhood classrooms requires your child[ren]'s campus visit and the completion of the Enrollment Application for Preschool/Day School or Kindergarten. Once you’ve scheduled your visit, we’ll contact you to talk about next steps.
The following schedule will guide you through the TMS admissions process.
The admission process begins with an inquiry and visit to our program.
The Open House allows parents to tour the school and chat with the faculty and staff to gain understanding of our classes and curriculum.
Parent Visit Weekly Nov.- Jan. Thursdays or Fridays at 9:30am (click to register)
The Parent Visit is a self-guided tour through the building to view Early Childhood “in action” and an informational session with our administration.
Complete and submit the online application at themusicsettlement.org. A non-refundable application fee of $25 is due with all applications. Applications must be received in the Early Childhood office by January 31, 2017 to be considered for first round placement. Applications received after this date will be considered for placement, as space is available.
Child Visit (required) Weekly Nov. – Jan. Mondays at 1:00pm (click to register)
A Child Visit allows you and your child to join a play group for prospective students in a classroom. Your child will gain a sample view of a “school day” at The Music Settlement. Register online at themusicsettlement.org or call the Early Childhood office at (216) 421-5806, ext. 160. Monthly as of February.
For prospective students that have completed the application process (submitted the application and completed their child visit by January 31st, 2017), an acceptance letter will be mailed by March notifying parents of their child’s placement status for the Fall. No acceptances are made prior to February to allow families time to tour and complete the required child’s visit. Rolling admissions will be considered for applicants after January 31st.
