Inlet Dance Theatre is in-residence at The Music Settlement. Company members teach dance classes for students age 3 - adults. Dance classes for students aged 11 and younger can be found at Early Childhood / Offerings / Arts for the Young.

Inlet Dance 10-Class Card (Fall 2016)

Want more flexibility? Purchase a 10-class card and take 10 classes throughout the semester on any Monday or Thursday at 5:30pm. Adult Modern Dance classes instruct students in modern dance, specifically Hawkins-based Release Technique. Classes begin seated on the floor, progressing to exercises standing in the center and then to movement combinations across the floor. These classes are open to ages 12 and up at all skill levels. Notes: Please wear form fitting work out shirts and pants and a pair of socks. Please call 216-721-8580 the day prior to attending class to notify us. Your purchased card must be picked up at the Enrollment and Customer Service office during regular business hours at least 1 day prior to your first class.

Inlet Dance Student Ensemble (Spring 2017)

Prerequisite: The Inlet Student Ensemble is a pre-professional performance group that is open to students ages 12 and up. Admittance into the Inlet Student Ensemble is by audition. Members are required to attend both Monday and Thursday's Teen/Adult Modern Dance classes, as well as Improvisation and Nontraditional Partnering classes. Training will focus on Hawkins-based Release Technique, nontraditional partnering, performance improvisation, and choreography. Student Ensemble members will increase their technical proficiency and dance literacy levels, learn rudiments of dance composition and performance improvisation, and have opportunities to view and critique dance performance. Members will also have chances throughout the year to perform in concerts and/or special events. Members are required to sign up for the full year, and do not need to enroll separately in the Monday and Thursday evening classes. Students are featured in a performance in the spring. Two complimentary tickets to this performance are included in tuition. $832 per semester (includes Modern, Improvisation, and Non-Traditional Partnering classes on Mondays and Thursdays - 5:30pm-8:30pm)

Inlet Dance Summer Dance Intensive 2017

Inlet Dance Theatre’s Summer Dance Intensive ‘17 (SDI ‘17) is an aggressive six and a half week training program for ages twelve through young adult. The SDI ‘17 focuses on increasing technical skill sets, collaborative creative process, performing improvisation and repertory. The SDI ‘17 allows students to experience being a dancer in a professional dance company. Click for more information and registration forms.
