The Music Settlement of University Circle recently announced endowment of the Forest City Enterprises Chair of Music Therapy.
The endowment was named in honor of Geralyn Presti, executive vice president, general counsel and secretary of Forest City Enterprises and a former music therapist at the Music Settlement. Presti serves as a chair of the organization's board of directors.
"We are pleased to have such an encouraging philanthropic partner to further our mission of creating a community where artistic expression belongs to everyone," Charlie Lawrence, president of The Music Settlement, said in a statement.
Music therapists at The Music Settlement work with clients who have autism spectrum disorders or other special needs, are in hospice or palliative-care programs, or are served by anchor partners including the Salvation Army, Harbor Light Complex, the United Cerebral Palsy Association and the Euclid School district.
