Earth Day Playdough
Dye your homemade playdough with green and blue for an easy invitation to create their own planet Earth! For younger children, provide a photo of the Earth for reference. Maybe they can even find where they live! Click here for our favorite no-cook playdough recipe.
For a fun twist, make salt dough Earths. You can add coloring to the water that goes into the salt dough. Then just bake at 350 degrees F until hardened.
Salt Dough recipe
- 2 cups flour
- 1 cup salt
- 3/4 cup water
Recycling Sorting Game
Challenge your child with a recycling sorting game like this one from Adventure in a Box. Or make your own with items you recycle, compost, or throw away at home. It's a huge thing to learn how many things really can't be recycled. Work together to come up with alternative ways to use the items that must be thrown away. Can they be donated? Handed down to a friend? Used for something else?
Earth Day snack
Get creative with your snack today and make Earth Day trees! Just use pretzel sticks and grape halves to shape and decorate your tree, then enjoy!
