On Earth Day, we are reminded how important it is to reduce our waste and recycle what we can. This is always our motto, especially when it comes to art projects. You have everything to need to create beautiful art sitting in forgotten boxes, in your recycling can, or on your neglected mail tables.
A favorite center of ours is a Tinker Lab. This can be filled with any variety of materials and prompts. Add blueberry clamshells, glue, and leftover fabric to create a fun box for treasures. Use paper towel and toilet paper rolls to make a castle. Search around your home to find things that aren't being used. How can you repurpose them into something new? Having a Tinker Lab station at home encourages problem solving, creativity, and innovation in your young one!
If you are already great at reducing waste, you may already be saving cardboard boxes, newspapers, magazines, or other paper products. These are perfect canvases for art. Use watercolors, paint, dot markers, whatever you can find to beautify. Sheet music and blueprints are also interesting to paint on, if you have them lying around!
There's no need to purchase tons of art supplies to create memorable experiences and beautiful art. It's all around you, if you just look!
