Slime is such a fun sensory experience in itself, why not try with honey! This slime recipe is actually taste safe, so no worries if some gets in your little one's mouth. This recipe is not recommended for children under 1 because it is made almost entirely of honey!
- 1/4 cup honey - you can even use honey that's been crystallized, so don't throw that bottle out!)
- 3/4 cup cornstarch, plus more as needed
- 1 teaspoon oil
- Melt honey if needed in 20 second intervals in the microwave
- Add cornstarch 1/4 cup at a time and mix. The mixture should be coming away from the sides of your bowl and will not stick to your hands.
- Add oil and knead
While playing, you may need to add a bit more cornstarch or oil, depending on your preference. Cornstarch worked best for us. It is a bit sticky, but it's just like honey! Add bee themed toys if you have any around or just explore together. It's a little more like silly putty than stretchy slime and smells delicious! Store in a covered container for a few weeks.
