Frozen Shaving Cream Sensory Bin

Did you know that you can make fun sensory activities using materials you probably already have at home? You can easily make a frozen sensory bin using foam shaving cream and your child’s favorite small toys like cars or ocean animals. This activity is fun because you can take it outside to cool off on hot days (or maybe in the bathtub!) and children will love watching it melt while squishing through the shaving cream texture to dig out their favorite toys!
What you Need to Make the Frozen Shaving Cream:
· Foam Shaving Cream
· Small Bin/Container
· Food Coloring (optional)
· Spoon to Mix
· Small Toys to Hide in the Shaving Cream
· Freezer
Directions:
1. Fill the container with shaving cream
2. Add in food coloring and mix
3. Add in toys
4. Freeze (this may take 2-3 hours)
5. Play!
This activity is great because sensory experiences help children to strengthen their fine motor skills by encouraging them to work the small muscles in their hands and wrists. There are endless possibilities with this activity. Maybe your child wants to make a frozen ocean bin or maybe they would like a frozen unicorn bin, let their imagination run wild!
