Join Arthur Kane for a virtual history tour through the evolution of music.

Participants will listen to and discuss various styles and eras of music, from ancient history to modern day. Sessions will consist of presentation, listening exercises, music theory, and small group discussion. This course will be a general overview as an introduction to future in-depth courses focused on specific historical periods. Recommended for musicians and non-musicians alike.

Arthur Kane joined The Music Settlement's faculty in 1973. Since 1990 he has been Head of the Piano Department, and teaches piano, harpsichord, and organ. He has been Director of The Music Settlement's Piano Camp since its inception in 2001. He has performed widely in the U.S. and Europe, including his own compositions. Arthur is the Director of Music and Liturgy at Our Lady of Hope in Bedford, OH, and has served as the organist at synagogues around Greater Cleveland.
