After their “Blue Moon” concert in January, Joe Hunter and Pete Cavano are returning to BOP STOP for another evening of music that covers an incredible diversity of genres! Jazz/Blues/Bossa Nova styles are merely the tip of proverbial iceberg as these two Cleveland legends bring there experience as not only performers but arrangers as well to the intimacy of the piano/guitar format. This is a definite must see performance!
Pete Cavano: As a professional guitarist for close to 40 years, Pete Cavano is no stranger to the local and national music scenes. Performing with artists such as the late Robert Lockwood Jr. and local legend Anne E. Dechant, has given Pete a formidable command of the guitar. Pete has been an annual performer at the Chet Atkins Appreciation Society Convention which celebrates the best solo guitarists from around the world and is held in Nashville each year.
Joe Hunter: Joe Hunter has been playing piano professionally since 1978 and his versatility has garnered him work with an array of artists. He attended Cleveland State University where a 1979 exchange program in Rio De Janeiro fueled his fascination for Brazilian rhythms.He returned to Brazil in 1981 to study at the Universidade Gamma Filho. From 1987 to 1996 he served on the Conservatory of Music faculty at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio, He has performed with many national artists including Conti Condoli, Tito Puente, and Scott Hamilton, and is a favorite at many JazzFest events. Joe has been with the Tri-C Jazz Studies program for several years and is co-host of the popular Song Is You! Series produced by Tri-C JazzFest.
