Kimberly Maes has a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and a Master of Music in Piano Pedagogy, both from Oakland University in Rochester, MI. There she studied with Mary Siciliano who inspired her to become a piano teacher. In addition to piano, she also studied and minored in voice and was part of the University Chorus.

She has been teaching piano since 2003. She enjoys coaching and accompanying students who perform for Solo & Ensemble or other events and competitions. In 2011, she received the MaTilDa Joyce Adelson Piano Award from Oakland University for performing Bizet’s Jeux d’Enfants Op. 22.

An injury during her graduate studies inspired her to write her thesis on “Teaching Physical Technique & Gestures to Beginning and Elementary Piano Students.”

She has performance experience not only as a classical pianist, but also as a church musician, and a singer in rockabilly bands and rock bands. She is also sought out to sing and play piano for weddings, funerals, and various other events.

She has been playing the piano since the age of 3 and singing since the age of 11. With these two loves, it was natural for her to become a singer/song-writer.

Kimberly loves sharing music with others and has used this passion for community outreach and charity. She created and organized a benefit concert and non-profit organization called Music with Heart to raise funds for the American Heart Association. She recently moved from Michigan to Cleveland and is excited to teach students eager to expand their musical knowledge.
