Anna (Bates) Gerber is an enthusiastic performer and devoted teacher whose passion is sharing the joy of music. An active musician throughout Northeast Ohio, Anna recently performed the Bloch Suite 1919 as soloist in Severance Hall with the CIM Orchestra. As violist of the Kalos Quartet she has participated in festivals such as the McGill International String Quartet Academy and regularly brings music to a variety of venues throughout the greater Cleveland area. Anna also performs with the Akron and Firelands Symphony Orchestras and has appeared as principal violist with orchestras at the Masterworks Festival, the National Orchestral Institute, and the Colorado College Summer Music Festival.
Having studied with Mark Jackobs and Robert Vernon at the Cleveland Institute of Music, Anna graduated with both her Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees in viola performance. At CIM she was also certified in Suzuki pedagogy and earned minors in music theory and piano. She continually draws on this training as she incorporates the Suzuki philosophy and music theory into all the lessons she teaches.
