Legacy Giving

Legacy Giving

More than a century ago, The Music Settlement's (TMS) founders created opportunity, joy, and connection for individuals of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities. Their legacy remains today and is felt by the thousands of individuals we serve annually whose lives are made better by our work.

Like our founders, you too can leave a lasting legacy of positively impacting our community. Discover how a planned gift can benefit you, your family, and TMS for many years to come.

Legacy Giving Options

  • PLANNED GIVING (Almeda Adams Society)
Named in memory of TMS' founder, the Almeda Adams Society was created to celebrate those who have remembered TMS in their will or estate plan. Through their bequest, trust, gift annuity or other planned gift, society members are helping to secure a promising future for TMS.

  • ENDOWED GIFTS
Endowed gifts establish a permanent legacy, either through scholarships or programs. A minimum gift of $10,000 is required to establish an endowment.

  • RETIREMENT PLAN (Required Minimum Distribution (RMD))
Retirement assets passing to someone other than a spouse typically are subject to taxes when inherited and later withdrawn. Due to the tax consequences, these assets make excellent choices for benefiting nonprofit organizations.
