Celebrating Dolores White's Life

Celebrating Dolores White's Life

The Cleveland music community is mourning the life of Cleveland-based composer and pianist Dolores White, who passed away on March 24th.

White last attended The Music Settlement's Linking Legacies concert in February, where her daughter, Dianna White-Gould, played piano and beautifully honored her mother's composition.

She and her husband, Donald White - longtime member of The Cleveland Orchestra, played a pivotal role in pushing diversity and equity efforts in classical music. Dolores devoted her professional music career at Oberlin Conservatory, Cuyahoga Community College, CIM and many more influential organizations, through performance, composition and teaching.

She leaves a lasting legacy at The Music Settlement, in the city of Cleveland, and across the nation where she played and inspired thousands. We celebrate her life and the lasting legacy she gave the music and arts community. Sending love to her family and all who were touched by her.
