PR: Big Week for BOP STOP at The Music Settlement

Venue featured in new Blue Note Records album, staff pick for Best Jazz Club

CLEVELAND –April 26, 2018- BOP STOP at The Music Settlement, the live music and education venue on Detroit Ave. at W. 29th Street in Cleveland, has had a lot of noteworthy weeks in its history: being donated to TMS by Anita Nonneman and Ron Busch, receiving “great-date approved” status by dating site eharmony, and scores of performances by Grammy®-winning and Grammy®-nominated artists.

None, however, have reached the heights of this week, which has found BOP STOP both on Blue Note Records and the staff-pick winner of “Best of Cleveland.”

BOP STOP is featured on the new Terence Blanchard feat. The E-Collective album “Live,” released on Blue Note Records on Friday, April 20, 2018.

“Blanchard’s new E-Collective release, Live, was recorded during January 2017 performances at venues in three communities marked by violence,” Larry Blumenfeld wrote in Village Voice on April 24, 2018.

One of those communities was Cleveland; Blanchard chose to record at BOP STOP.

“The first 23 minutes of the album were recorded at BOP STOP. You can even hear me introduce Terence on the record,” BOP STOP Director Gabe Pollack wrote in an email to TMS staff.

The album is being hailed as “powerful” by The Boston Globe, with other kudos sure to come as the monthly music magazines are released.

On the heels of this news, BOP STOP was named winner of the Cleveland Scene Magazine’s “Best of Cleveland 2018 Staff Picks.”

“…BOP STOP’s programming is so ambitious it’s hard to beat,” Cleveland Scene Magazine’s staff determined.

With shows featuring important talents like Terence Blanchard, it’s no wonder.
