BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!

We are thrilled to announce that Bryan Kennard will be joining The Music Settlement as our successor Director of BOP STOP. Gabe will be showing Bryan the ropes for the next five weeks and he will fully assume the Director duties at the end of October 14 when Gabe leaves to assume his new role at Cleveland Museum of Art! Bryan has a longstanding relationship with the BOP STOP. While growing up in Northeast, OH he attended many concerts at BOP STOP. More recently, as a composer and flute player, he has performed at the club on numerous occasions.Bryan attended Mercyhurst University where he earned a B.M. in Music Education. He went on to earn two masters degrees including an M.M in Flute Performance from Youngstown State University and a M.M. degree in Jazz Composition from University of Texas at Austin. In 2020, Bryan graduated with a Doctor of Musical Arts in Jazz Composition and a Doctoral Cognate in Music Technology.

Bryan’s knowledge of jazz performance, education, the local music scene, and music technology will be invaluable to the success of BOP STOP.Throughout his career, Bryan has proven to be creative, collaborative, hardworking, trustworthy, and kind. His deep devotion to the Cleveland jazz scene and the city's larger music scene will certainly ensure that the BOP STOP remains a Cleveland treasure that continues to support The Music Settlement’s mission and offer unique opportunities for Greater Cleveland.We all look forward to seeing Bryan Direct BOP STOP on its next chapter and know he will do a great job!
