Watch your child’s musicality and imagination take flight!
In this joyful, interactive class, children explore music through purposeful movement, singing, improvisation, active listening, and creative games.
Based on the Dalcroze Eurhythmics approach, this class helps children experience music in a dynamic, hands-on way — building musical understanding from the inside out. Through playful, carefully designed activities, students will strengthen their coordination, balance, attention, spatial awareness, and vocal skills. Along the way, they’ll also develop important foundations for both music and life: motor skills, musical vocabulary, early music literacy, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Please wear comfortable clothing that allows for freedom of movement. Students will be barefoot during class, so please avoid wearing tights as they are more difficult to manage.
Age Groups
Students enrolled in full-day preschool and / or kindergarten at The Music Settlement can be walked over to class. Kindergarten students will dismiss for the day from class. Preschool students can be dismissed for the day from class or returned to their classroom to finish the normal school day.
If this is your first enrollment of the school year in the Center for Music (September – June), a non-refundable registration fee is due at the time of enrollment ($35 for a single registrant, with a cap of $50 per family).
