Join us for an engaging music class, featuring keyboard instruction and much more!
This class serves as an introduction to the piano and learning about pattern, form, note names, and rhythm in music. Students will listen, play, vocalize, and more. Many students continue taking this class for several sessions for ongoing skill development.

Patty Console, MT-BC is a board-certified music therapist. She graduated from Western Michigan University in 1980 and has been a practicing music therapist for over 20 years. She began working at The Music Settlement in 2006. On-site at The Music Settlement, she currently serves clients with diagnoses such as autism, MR/DD, or mood disorders. She is also contracted by the Salvation Army to serve several populations such as women and men living in sheltered or transitional housing; individuals reintegrating to the community from forensic or drug and alcohol rehabilitation. She is a member of AMTA and AOMT.

Joseph Mook is a private music teacher in the greater Cleveland area, teaching children, teens, and adults, piano, violin, trumpet, and other musical instruments, as well as to love and enjoy music. Joseph Mook is a private music teacher in the greater Cleveland area, teaching children, teens, and adults, piano, violin, trumpet, and other musical instruments, as well as to love and enjoy music. He additionally is the worship team leader at his church, Gateway Church Downtown, where he plays keyboard, directs the church band in rehearsals, and leads the congregation in worship on Sundays.
Joseph has played violin in several community orchestras, most recently with Symphony West Orchestra. He occasionally performs for gigs at weddings and accompanies other musicians on piano. Joseph also has been enjoying being the keyboardist for a local rock cover band, Hero II, which performs mostly rock from the 70s-today in smaller venues around town. He's picked up many different performance styles and music tech knowledge just from his short time with Hero II.
Additionally, Joseph has been asked by the Ohio Federation of Music Clubs (OFMC) to help adjudicate solo piano entries for their Junior Music Festivals since 2020, giving students honest feedback and insight in how they performed and how to grow as musicians.
He gained his Bachelor’s of Music Education from The Ohio State University in 2012, cum laude and with Honors, where he studied his principal instrument of piano under Dr. Steven Glaser primarily, but also with Drs. Rina Shimizu-Grow and Ryan Behan. During his free time, he enjoys basking in the cultural opportunities of University Circle in Cleveland, and especially hearing a pitch-perfect concert by the world-renowned Cleveland Orchestra.
