Rock & Pop Band

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner and Up

Now in Ohio City, our redesigned Rock & Pop Band gives your musicians the chance to form bands, explore specific genres, and create original music together.

Students begin by learning a cover song to build ensemble skills, then quickly transition into collaborative songwriting, coming to each session with their own ideas—whether riffs, lyrics, or melodies—to shape into fully developed songs. Depending on enrollment, bands may focus on genres such as Pop or Alternative/Indie Rock, allowing students to dive deeper into the styles that inspire them. Throughout the program, participants rehearse, write, and refine their music while preparing for performance opportunities both at The Music Settlement and potentially at off?site events.

If this is your first enrollment of the school year in the Center for Music (September – June), a non-refundable registration fee is due at the time of enrollment ($35 for a single registrant, with a cap of $50 per family).

Registration for the 2026 - 2027 school year will open on June 1, 2026.
