University School Jazz Showcase Livestream @ BOP STOP

This May 11th at 7pm the University School Jazz Ensemble, led by long-time faculty member David Kay, will offer their Spring concert at the BOP STOP; a streamed affair with no audience. There will a fond farewell to three 2021 seniors as well as a return by a US graduate from 2020 to be featured on a solo that due to the Pandemic, was cancelled along with the school’s 2020 Spring jazz concert.

The Jazz Ensemble will present music by Pharoah Sanders and Leon Thomas, Roscoe Mitchell and the Art Ensemble of Chicago, Jon Batiste, a relatively new composition by Wynton Marsalis from his 2020 Democracy! Suite, Pat Metheny, an arrangement of music from Senegal, and various settings from 1970s and 1980s Miles Davis.
