Two of the most prolific Northeast Ohio based guitarists, Dan Bruce and Dan Wilson, team up for a very special duo performance. The two will perform a mix of jazz standards and original arrangements. This event will be livestreamed in front of a small audience. Get your ticket today!

By embracing the influence of his heroes from the jazz tradition and retaining his own musical personality, guitarist Daniel Bruce has developed a unique and impressive musical voice. He is active as a performer, recording artist, composer and educator. He moved to Chicago in 2007, after finishing his master’s degree in jazz studies at the University of North Texas. He was quickly performing at a number of the city’s finest jazz venues including The Green Mill, The Jazz Showcase, and Harris Theatre in Millennium Park.

As a jazz performer and recording artist, Daniel Bruce has had the opportunity to work with a number of eminent musicians including Ali Jackson, Dan Wall, Lynn Seaton, The Cleveland Jazz Orchestra, Marvin Stamm, and Dave Restivo. He has been a featured composer in Fingerstyle Guitar Magazine, and remains a regular contributor. Daniel released A Single Thread, his first album as a leader, in 2008 on NohJoh records.

Daniel has held faculty positions at Muskingum College, Cuyahoga Community College, Harold Washington College, St. Xavier University, and Interlochen Center for the Arts. Bruce was awarded a Teaching Fellowship upon entrance to UNT where he taught applied jazz guitar lessons, directed two guitar ensembles and a student big band while pursuing his own studies at the University.

Music has been an integral part of Dan Wilson's life since his beginnings in gospel music. Upon hearing a Wes Montgomery record in a relative's basement, Dan decided to pursue a career as a musician. Since then, he has spent more than a decade honing his craft.

Dan has been touring nationally and internationally with three-time Grammy nominated jazz organ legend, Joey DeFrancesco. Dan's composition, "Who Shot John" was featured on Joey's 2015 release, "Trip Mode." Dan received a Grammy nomination for work on "Project Freedom," by Joey Defrancesco & The People, released in 2017. Dan can also be heard on Van Morrison's "You're Driving Me Crazy," and "The Prophet Speaks." In April of 2017, Dan joined legendary bassist Christian Mcbride's "Tip City." In June of 2019, Dan recorded an album for Mack Avenue Records entitled "Vessels of Wood and Earth," which featured Jeff "Tain" Watts, Christian Sands, Marco Panascia, and Joy Brown. The album was released during the Fall of 2019.

In addition to touring with Joey DeFrancesco, he has enjoyed the honor of sharing the stage with many jazz greats including Eric Marienthal, Russell Malone, Les Mcann, Christian Mcbride, and Dave Stryker.

Dan also teaches jazz guitar and theory through private lessons and co-leads a group of world class musicians, called D.T.C, which features drummer David Throckmorton and Cliff Barnes.

Dan received his Bachelor's Degree in Music & Liberal Studies from Hiram College in 2006. His passion for Brazilian music led him to the city of Rio De Janeiro in 2007 to conduct research for his Masters Thesis which he defended successfully at Youngstown State University in 2009.
