Conclusion of 2013-14 season

The Almeda Trio will conclude its 2013-14 season as trio-in-residence at The Music Settlement with a performance at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 1, 2014.
With a broad stylistic embrace, the program will feature a set of Dave Brubeck tunes arranged for the Almeda Trio as well as the masterpiece of the piano trio repertoire, Franz Schubert’s Trio in Bb Major.
Taking its name from the early 20th-century social activist and founder of The Music Settlement, Almeda Adams, Trio members - Robert Cassidy, piano, and Ida Mercer, cello – will be joined by guest violinist, Mari Sato for this concert. Well-known to Cleveland audiences as a violinist of the Cavani Quartet, Mari serves on the faculty at the Cleveland Institute of Music. Ida and Robert are thrilled to be collaborating with their CIM colleague, just down the street from The Music Settlement .
It has been a busy season for the Almeda Trio, with performances in Georgia, Alabama, and Illinois, and within the state of Ohio- at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History Shafran Planetarium, Cleveland Public Library, Kent State University–Stark, and at Cleveland State University, with a live broadcast on WCLV 104.9 FM The concert is free and open to the public. The Music Settlement, Cleveland’s oldest music school, is located in University Circle at 11125 Magnolia Drive.
