Fresh off the release of their new EP Emic/Etic, Rooms Trio is taking their distinctive imagining of the piano trio on the road. The Chicago-based trio, consisting of Dan Pierson on keyboard, Charlie Kirchen on bass, and Matt Carroll on drums, has become a mainstay on the city's vibrant creative music scene. Peter Margasak of The Chicago Reader has described the band as “fluent in the vocabulary of postbop, and... not afraid to sound aware of current trends in pop” and Dave Summer of Bird is the Worm has described Room's sound as “both off-the-cuff and thoughtfully planned, in a way that is both genuine and charming.” These performances promise to be engaging, evocative, and thought-provoking as the group takes the next step in its evolution.

Rooms Trio performs in a similar vein as popular piano trios, such as those led by Robert Glasper and Avishai Cohen.
