OPUS 216 @ BOP STOP

OPUS 216 is comprised of independent, classically-trained Cleveland musicians who enjoy working alongside other creative disciplines. OPUS 216 appears regularly in public and private events, at prominent Cleveland venues and art institutions (including the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Cleveland Clinic, 78th Street Studios, The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, The City Club of Cleveland and The Happy Dog, among others).

The ensemble has extensive experience performing for urban outreach initiatives, Head Start programs, library workshops, and classroom/school-wide presentations.

Ariel Clayton, Violin: Originally from Dallas, Texas, violinist Ariel Clayton gives more than 100 performances annually as an independent artist in the northeast Ohio area in both public and private settings. She currently directs Classical Revolution Cleveland, coordinating monthly performances of independent classical musicians in unconventional venues in an effort to break down barriers between performers and new audiences. Broadcast performances and interviews of the ensemble have been recently featured on both NPR and WCLV in Cleveland.

Andris Koh, Cello: Andris Koh, from Singapore, began studying the cello at the age of 8, and piano at the age of 4. Ms. Koh holds a Master of Music degree in Cello Performance and Suzuki Pedagogy, and a Bachelor of Music degree (with Academic Honors and a Minor in Dalcroze Eurhythmics) from the Cleveland Institute of Music. Upon graduating, she was awarded the Jim Hall Graduate Scholarship, and the Dr. Bennett Levine Memorial Award in Chamber Music. She has also performed Dvorak’s Cello Concerto at Severance Hall, as a result of winning the CIM Concerto Competition. Ms. Koh also holds a Diploma in Cello and Piano Performance from the Associate Board of the Royal Schools of Music in London.

Emily Grabinski, Piano: Originally from Muskegon, MI, Emily Grabinski is a Cleveland-based pianist who divides her time equally between music performance and instruction. While maintaining a full studio of private students of all ages, she also enjoys a diverse musical career including performances as soloist, collaborative pianist, chamber musician, harpsichordist, and organist. She can be heard nationally and internationally with groups such as Classical Revolution, Opus 216, Tyrolean Opera Program, Hudson Chamber Players, Half Stick Duo, and UNION.
