Influenced by guitar greats such as George Benson, Russell Malone, Wes Montgomery, Grant Green, Antonio Carlos Jobim and João Bosco, Akron-local guitarist Dan Wilson has traveled the world with his axe – entertaining crowds from Brazil to Germany to Russia.
A touring sideman with Grammy award-winning jazz saxophonist, Eric Marienthal, and three-time Grammy nominated jazz organist, Joey DeFrancesco, Dan Wilson has shared the stage with jazz juggernauts Christian McBride and Les McCann to name a few.
BAND PROFILE: DTC is a musical collective formed by musicians David "Throck" Throckmorton (Pittsburgh-drums), Dan Wilson (Ohio-guitar), and Cliff Barnes (Ohio-organ). The group was formed in the winter of 2014 when the trio played one unrehearsed show and discovered a rare and exciting chemistry. D.T.C. plays a variety of different genres due to varied musical palettes. These include, jazz, funk, gospel, R&B, Brazilian music, Afro-Cuban, Blues, Pop, and many other styles.
EXPERIENCE: Each band member is a professional musician by trade. All three musicians bring a vast amount of experience to the table, having shared the stage with a multitude of artists spanning across many different genres.
