Please join us for a free vocal performance. The event will feature voice students of Hazel Zehner, followed by a faculty voice recital. A reception follows at 4pm
Hazel Zehner has served as Head of the Voice Department at The Music Settlement since 1989. Her students sing in numerous music organizations of Cleveland including this areas churches and synagogues. With other teacher's singers and guests, they performed Menottis Amahl and the Night Visitors, J.S. Bachs Coffee Cantata, and Affairs of the Heart featuring music theater music, as well Voice Department Master Classes and Performance Classes. Doctors from The Cleveland Clinic have referred singers to her for remedial voice work. Before moving to Cleveland, Hazel Zehner was a faculty member at North Park University and The American Conservatory of Music in Chicago, The University of Wisconsin, Marathon Campus and Wittenberg School of Music. At Aspen School of Music, Mrs. Zehner auditioned received a Martha Bard Rockefeller Grant for three summers. She appeared in concert, oratorio, and opera in Chicago, Denver, and at The University of Wisconsin Campuses and Wittenberg School of Music.
