Jazz bassist Nikki Charise is quickly emerging as one of today's gifted young musicians. A student of the Berklee College of Music, An electric and acoustic bassist that stirs up a rich brew of Rhythm and Blues, Jazz, Gospel, and Neo Soul to satisfy the palate of every music lover. Music has been the foundation of her existence since birth. She plays eight instruments and began her musical journey at two years old on the drums but found the electric and upright bass to be the true extension of herself. Her credits include studying with trumpeter Steve Enos, saxophonist Ernie Krivda , bassist Christian McBride and bassist Jim Stinnett to name a few. Performance credits include Cain Park, Legacy Village and area vineyards. She has been a guest bassist with several local bands and was bassist for the Karamu House 2015 - 2016 productions of "Leap of Faith, Ain't Nothing But The Blues and The Wiz ". Nikki debuted her own musical entity, "Musicology" in 2014 and is currently working on the completion of her debut project slated for release Summer of 2016. This holiday season she is excited to share her " Favorite Things" at the Bop Stop. A collaboration of Cool / Hot Jazz and traditional Christmas classics.
