Ed Michaels and Marty Witczak: The Music of Getz/Barron @ BOP STOP

The saxophone / piano duo of Ed Michaels and Marty Witczak got its start in the early 1990's when the two musicians met at Lakeland Community College where Ed directs Jazz Impact, an All-Star High School Band comprised of top talent from Northeast Ohio. Marty excelled as pianist for the group and went on to Case Western Reserve University where he majored in music education.
Currently, Marty directs the Cleveland Clinic Concert Band, in addition to his piano performances. Ed keeps a busy schedule as a saxophonist and continues to teach at LCC as well as working with his saxophone students at the Fine Arts Association and Arrowhead Music. He also teaches music in the Willoughby - Eastlake School District.
For their Bop Stop performance, Marty and Ed have chosen a tribute concert to the great duo of Stan Getz and Kenny Barron. Many of their selections will be based on the iconic album "People Time".
