Chiara Stauffer was born and raised in Switzerland and received her BM and MM from the Basel University of Music, with a minor in baroque violin from the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. Since relocating to Cleveland in 2012, she co-founded Time Canvas, a trio performing chamber music and improvisation. She is a member of the FiveOne Experimental Orchestra and CityMusic Cleveland, and works as a freelance musician in both classical and jazz settings. In addition, she holds a faculty position at the Aurora School of Music.

Aniela Eddy is a graduate of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and the Cleveland Institute of Music. She has performed with ensembles such as the Lucerne Festival Academy Orchestra, CityMusic Cleveland, Ensemble LPR, Ballet Next, A Prairie Home Companion and the Blossom Festival Orchestra. In addition to teaching at the El Sistema of El Salvador, Guatemala and Uruguay, Aniela has toured throughout India, performing concerts and promoting various organizations. She is a recipient of the Avanti Award and a faculty member at the Aurora School of Music.

In 2006, Chiara and Aniela were both living in Basel, Switzerland. Although they shared mutual friends from their time spent living in the same city, it was only six years later at an event in Cleveland, Ohio that they met each other for the first time. Since then, they have developed a deep friendship and professional working relationship, and have collaborated on many exciting projects for national and local audiences.

This concert will feature duos for two violins by Telemann, Boccherini, Honegger, O’Connor and others. It is our hope to bring the audience a glimpse of the repertoire for two violins, spanning from baroque to contemporary works and highlighting composers from Italy, Iceland, Germany, France, Switzerland, and the USA.
