After living in Los Angeles for many years, jazz vocalist Leslie Leslie and her husband pianist Gerard Hagen followed a dream and relocated to Paris. They have collectively recorded seven CD's which have received international radio airplay and have been distributed in the U.S., Japan and Europe. Their tours have taken them to London, Paris, Tokyo, Budapest, Lausanne, Marrakesh, Corsica, Conakry, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco and throughout the U.S. Leslie has been a featured vocalist with the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra, the Pacific Symphony, Jazz Tap Ensemble and has performed with members of the Duke Ellington Orchestra. Gerard is active as a performer, arranger, producer and was an associate professor of jazz piano at Saddleback College. He currently teaches at International Music Educators of Paris College of Music.
Leslie’s show combines groove, soul and jazz sophistication with a repertoire that spans Gershwin, Ellington and Monk to McCartney, Bacharach and Carly Simon. Audiences can look forward to enjoying an evening of jazz that makes them feel good. Leslie is joined by her husband Gerard Hagen, pianist/musical director, Paris based bassist Peter Giron, Los Angeles based drummer Jerry Kalaf, and Jack Schantz on trumpet.
JAZZ TIMES MAGAZINE: "Leslie Lewis is all a good jazz singer should be. Her beautiful tone and classy phrasing evoke the sound of the classic jazz singers like Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughan. Leslie Lewis' vocals are complimented perfectly by her husband, Gerard Hagen.”
