This Fall, "Eric Seddon's Hot Club Live Performance and History Series" occurs every other Wednesday in September through November. Each event focuses on a different innovator in jazz clarinet. Feel free to purchase tickets to each individual concert or buy a ticket to the entire series for some great savings!

We’re leading off our series with one of the two most important figures in the history of recorded jazz: Sidney Bechet (Louis Armstrong is the other). This concert will be a presentation of Bechet’s life and career, highlighting his philosophy of jazz as a non-commercial artform of communal sharing at its heart. We’ll discuss his unique contribution to soloing, predating even Armstrong, and highlight his contributions in terms of melodic line, metrical and rhythmic freedom, and composition. Join us as we dig into the man Duke Ellington considered the icon and original of jazz.
