BOP STOP
BOP STOP at The Music Settlement is Cleveland's premier listening room: an intimate, acoustically pristine performance venue with sweeping views of Lake Erie.
February 2 from 8:00pm - 11:00pm
Tonight's show at BOP STOP will feature two of Ohio’s leading new ensembles: Cincinnati’s trio “On a Limb” and Cleveland's own “Will Wedmedyk Group.” On a Limb draws influence from modern piano trios like The Bad Plus, Brad Mehldau Trio, and Gerald Clayton, while WWG draws its sounds from Pat Metheney, Gary Burton, and the Brecker Brothers. Together these two groups will display the intriguing variety available in modern instrumental music today by taking you through the emotional and heartfelt journey of their original compositions.
Will Wedmedyk Group: As a vibraphonist, Will Wedmedyk has performed throughout Ohio in a variety of groups that feature anything from jazz to pop music. While the instrument he plays lends itself to more classic jazz, as a bandleader and composer, he explores an exciting fusion of modern jazz, funk, rock, and pop music in his original compositions. The fusion of conflicting genres opens expressive doors that excitingly lead the listeners and musicians to strange and familiar places. As a result, his all star band of Northeast Ohio’s top musicians tell a deeper musical story by exploring the complexities of modern life. Featuring:

On a Limb: The band takes an improvisational approach to original compositions as well as interpretations of their favorite music (John Coltrane, Sufjan Stevens, Chopin, The Beatles, etc.). On a Limb was featured at the 2017 Dayton Jazz Festival, shared the stage with Glenn Zaleski Trio, and has performed with critically-acclaimed group, Animal Mother.
Each member brings their individual personality to the group to create a unique and highly-interactive sound. The band's deep chemistry allows them to be vulnerable and express themselves openly. Featuring:
