Cleveland is lucky to have pianist, Joey Skoch, back home! We stole him from Chicago where he has been performing/living for the past few years. In this special homecoming concert Joey is performing a duo concert with acclaimed bassist, Dave Morgan, which will feature jazz standards and a few original tunes.
Joey Skoch is a jazz pianist based in Cleveland, OH. He received a Master's Degree from DePaul University, where he studied with Ron Perrillo. Joey graduated from Capital University where he studied both jazz and classical piano with professors Mark Flugge and Seymour Fink.
Joey has had the opportunity to perform with some of the world's greatest musicians in Chicago including Bobby Broom, George Fludas, Dennis Carroll, and Pharez Whitted. He has also performed with Dee Alexander and the Chicago Jazz Orchestra and performs weekly at Andy's Jazz Club.
Outside of Chicago, Joey has performed with many musicians in the Cleveland and Columbus areas. These include Ernie Krivda, Bobby Selvaggio, Lou Fischer, and Jack Schantz. In 2015, Joey performed at the Buffalo Jazz Festival with the Elliot Scozzaro Quartet. Joey has also held the position of staff pianist at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, Michigan.
Dave Morgan: Dave performs regularly with Cleveland Jazz Orchestra and is the professor of jazz bass at Youngstown State University. He has shared the bandstand with artists such as Benny Golson, Dizzy Gillespie, Larry Coryell, John Hollenbeck, and more.
