Carol Leslie returns to BOP STOP for an encore performance!

Come hear this Scottish import sing “torch songs by twilight,” beloved songs of artists like Nina Simone, Frank Sinatra, Sarah Vaughan, Diana Krall, Sammy Davis Jr, Ella Fitzgerald, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Lennon & McCartney, Judy Garland, Donny Hathaway, and more! Sit back and relax as Carol’s quartet performs beautiful excerpts from the American Song Book, jazz, R&B, love songs for the heart. She is accompanied by her music arranger, composer, educator and international pianist, Drene Ivy. Sunny Tabler, dynamic drummer and percussionist, adds foundation, rhythm and accents, and Aidan Plank, educator, bassist, adds warmth, beat and foundation to this talented quartet. Together, they keep it in the groove, and form a wonderful cocktail of swing, bebop, verve and soul!

From Scotland, Carol was raised on jazz standards, torch songs, Broadway, opera and pop, where she represented Scotland on UK ITV’s “Rising Stars,” BBC Radio’s “Debut,” spent time doing extra work on British SOAPs, and has since performed in Australia, Norway, UK, Bermuda and the USA, and on WCPN, interviewed by Cleveland’s own, Dee Perry. For several years she performed with Cleveland’s Rick Endress Little Big Band, and Akron’s Nuff Rey Orchestra, and with the Akron band, Elegy. You may have seen her in any one of the premier jazz restaurants in NE Ohio, black- tie events or galas.
