Benjamin Thomas Trio @ BOP STOP

Blending his love for improvisation, straight-ahead swing, and funk music, guitarist and composer Benjamin Thomas creates a mighty sound with his engaging melodies and harmonically heartfelt songs. As a seasoned performer, Benjamin has had the pleasure of opening and performing alongside Joey DeFrancesco, Average White Band, Sean Carney, and many others in his burgeoning musical career.
Benjamin Thomas began writing music and playing guitar at sixteen. After several years playing blues in the local club circuit, Benjamin studied jazz at the College-Conservatory of Music in Cincinnati, Ohio. After graduation, he began recording and touring extensively with his band, The Happy Maladies, and became an in demand guitarist in the Midwest jazz and improvised music scene collaborating with countless artists. Benjamin has recently moved to Los Angeles to pursue his Masters at CalArts and study with LA jazz guitar giant, Larry Koonse.
