Third time is a charm for Carol Leslie, Scottish jazz vocalist, who returns to BOP STOP on the 28th of September, 8pm, with her version of contemporary jazz standards, blues, blue-eyed soul, and excerpts from the American Songbook as featured on her newly released CD, “Carol Leslie – Live At The Bop Stop!”

Her elegant, creative delivery, rich, warm timbre, audience connection, intelligent assortment of beautiful songs makes for a wonderful listening experience. Influenced by America’s jazz and R & B greats – Diane Schuur, Roberta Flack, Lena Horne, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, Diana Krall, Sarah Vaughan, Anita Baker, Judy Garland, Peggy Lee, and British recording stars, Cleo Laine, Annie Ross, Lennon & McCartney, and Amy Winehouse. Once the sole representative for Scotland on a live European/British TV talent show, “Rising Stars,” this rising star is now shining bright, here in NE Ohio!

At this event, she is working with some of Cleveland’s finest musicians, Ed Ridley on piano (educator, music director at Karamu with the musical, “Simply Simone,”) Aidan Plank on bass (educator, composer, bassist for jazz and chamber orchestras NE Ohio), Sunceray (Sunny) Tabler on drums (educator, multi-style drummer/percussionist), and Hichem Ferrah on guitar, who combine to deliver a great groove, a swingin’ sweet vibe, eloquent elements, and contemporary cool.
