"It's a book launch! Join #NurseBarbara the #NurseVocalist as she takes you on a sometimes funny, sometimes tragic, sometimes amazing, always keeping it real journey, as her first book, 'Hood Medical: This Is Why I Sing, gives tribute to retirement from 36 years of registered nursing! While nursing was Plan B, it was a wonderful, long-standing and successful choice. Barbara, affectionately known as Nurse Barbara by her CMSD school children, will share anonymous experiences as far back as her first months of nursing practice. These experiences range from hospital, home-care, and public school nursing, to dialysis nursing on a cruise ship! The stage vignette portion of this launch will include theatrical script as well as song, as Barbara is very beautifully accompanied by Ms. Cerena Mangum on keyboard and piano. Barbara has used her musical gifts to keep herself encouraged, energized and healed, as well as to hopefully provide solace, healing, and entertainment for her many audiences over the years.
Come be inspired by her journey, join the celebration and take home a book! There may also be a surprise CD dedicated to her journey! Here's to nursing past, present and future, and here's to all levels of healing arts!"
