Sebastian Albornoz releases his debut album "Sophie" at the BOP STOP!
Sebastian moved to Cleveland from his native Colombia just over a year ago. Since arriving on the North Coast, he has been telling new stories in jazz with his fresh guitar work and stellar arranging. This album, recorded in the summer of 2018 at the BOP STOP, is a collection of original compositions by Sebastian full of shifting moods and clean, clear melodies.
Sebastian's first performance at BOP STOP, on August 29 opening for Jackie Warren, was met with rousing cheers and thunderous applause, as this relatively unknown guitarist won over a discerning audience that showed up for the headliner. Like that night, this release party will be full of new music, old friends, surprise guests, and tremendous energy. The ensemble with him tonight will be Anthony Taddeo on drums, Kevin Martinez on bass, and Daniel Spearman on piano and trumpet.
This Tighten Up Records release, Sophie by Sebastian Albornoz, will be available on CD at the show and on all popular streaming platforms.
