BOP STOP at The Music Settlement is Cleveland's premier listening room: an intimate, acoustically pristine performance venue with sweeping views of Lake Erie.
January 14 from 7:00pm - 9:30pm
Cleveland's own Joey Skoch leads his piano trio for an evening of stellar jazz at BOP STOP. The trio features Chicago-based musicians Dennis Carroll and George Fludas, both of whom are known for their work with master musicians Bobby Broom, Eric Alexander and Ron Blake. The great song, from Berlin to McCartney, becomes their canvas as they strive for the nexus of individual expression and collective humanism.
Joey Skoch is a jazz pianist and keyboardist. He received a Master's Degree from DePaul University, where he studied with Ron Perrillo. Joey graduated from Capital University where he studied both jazz and classical piano with professors Mark Flugge and Seymour Fink.
While currently residing in Cleveland, Joey continues to have the opportunity to perform with some of the world's greatest musicians in Chicago including Bobby Broom, George Fludas, Dennis Carroll, and Pharez Whitted. He has also performed with Dee Alexander and the Chicago Jazz Orchestra and performs weekly at Andy's Jazz Club.
Outside of Chicago, Joey has performed with many musicians in the Cleveland and Columbus areas. These include Ernie Krivda, Bobby Selvaggio, Lou Fischer, and Jack Schantz. In 2015, Joey performed at the Buffalo Jazz Festival with the Elliot Scozzaro Quartet. Joey has also held the position of staff pianist at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, Michigan.
