Tide Pools makes their BOP STOP debut! In addition to in-person seating, this concert will be livestreamed on BOP STOP's Facebook page at showtime. TIckets to attend the concert in person are $15. Accessing the livestream is free but donations are encouraged and appreciated and can be made at

Tide Pools is Hannah Marks (bass), Connor Parks (drums), and Alfredo Colon (alto saxophone). Along with their self-penned compositions, the trio’s repertoire reflects a diversity of influences from an Appalachian folk tune to songs by free jazz pioneers Ornette Coleman and Paul Motian to a jingle from a Dominican rum commercial. Water is a running theme throughout the group, as evidenced by the churning swirl of an “anti-soloist” agenda and their free-flowing musical leader roles.

Tide Pools has presented livestream concerts for The Jazz Gallery, SEEDS:BK, Civic Music Association, Merrimans’ Playhouse, and My Invisible City. All three members are active in the New York City music scene regularly performing at venues like The Jazz Gallery, Birdland, the Blue Note, and Jazz at Lincoln Center. Their individual festival appearances include Hyde Park Jazz Festival, Newport Jazz Festival, Montreux Jazz Festival, Afropunk, and the Detroit Jazz Festival.

Hannah Marks is a bassist, bandleader, composer, and educator living in New York City. As a bandleader, she has performed at several major festivals, including the Detroit Jazz Festival, Hyde Park Jazz Festival, Iowa City Jazz Festival, and Indy Jazz Festival. She is a member of Morgan Guerin’s quartet and Kristen Lee Seargent’s band, as well as a frequent sideman with Geoffrey Keezer, Ingrid Jensen, and Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra members Marcus Printup and Ted Nash. Marks is a 2019 alumnus of Betty Carter Jazz Ahead, a 2018 alumnus of the Banff International Workshop in Jazz and Creative Music, and a 2014 alumnus of the Brubeck Summer Jazz Colony. She is on faculty at The Spence School and runs her own private lesson studio.
