A free workshop on Jewish music traditions from around the world
December 14 from 12:00pm - 1:00pm
This workshop will be led by Cleveland musicians Henry Samuels (bass), Steven Greenman (violin), and Walt Mahovlich (accordion) and include remote teachers from Tel Aviv, Israel- Shira Ziv (soprano) and Dana Ziv ( head of the Music Databases at ANU, Museum of the Jewish People).
The Workshop will feature a variety of music, and performers will discuss and demonstrate different Jewish traditions from around the world. Participants will get hands-on experience learning to drum rhythms from European Jewish music as well as Sephardic Jewish music. The event will be held in Glick Recital Hall in Burke mansion of The Music Settlement in University Circle.
