Woda is an international singer, songwriter and producer. She is originally from Togo, West Africa and moved to the United States 20 years ago spending time in Maryland, New York and Cleveland. Woda’s vocal talent was recognized when she was a child and she began singing professionally at the age of 9 performing alongside other church choir members. Later, as a teenager, she became the lead singer of the group “Alokpa” where she performed a mixture of jazz, traditional African melodies, and Western popular music. Woda’s vocal range and style fuses genres including Gospel, jazz, R&B, neo-soul, opera, blues, reggae and Afro-beat. Woda is fluent and sings in several languages including French, English, Creole, Yoruba and Ewe (her native language). Spending more than half of her life in the music industry, Woda has been blessed with the opportunity to travel and perform in Africa, Europe and in the United States. In 2013, after singing and performing covers for years, Woda started writing and producing her own material and released her first single “I need a good man” in 2015.

Recently, Woda released three new songs that are now streaming on all digital platforms including, “Boy Bye”, “Not Coming Back”, and “Kenyatta”. With a lyrical sensitivity to her compositions and performances, her music draws listeners in with subtlety and introspective levity. Bringing a distinctive angle to her delivery, she creates opportunities for improvisation and discovery. Proud and respectful of her African heritage, but fearlessly adventurous, Woda has a vision to create a new genre of music that has a universal message of freedom, peace and love.

Woda’s ultimate goal is to promote diversity and acceptance and to become an advocate of education and health care for African women and children and ensuring their equitable treatment in all societies. She believes that because music plays a vital role in the lives of people everywhere, it is an essential tool for a better world.
