After almost 3 years, Tony Cuda's Jazz Cats are returning to the BOP STOP to play original tunes from their 2 previously released CD's; "Herding Jazz Cats" and "Broken Streams of Consciousness." Cuda, Schieferstein & Cuda will also perform a few tunes as a trio. Please come out and support original music from 5 very original musicians! Tickets to attend this concert in person are $15 each. Tony Cuda is a bass player and composer of modern jazz influenced music. Tony founded The Jazz Cats in 2010 and released his 2nd CD in 2016, "Broken Streams of Consciousness" as a follow up to the critically acclaimed “Herding Jazz Cats” debut release in 2014. Tony is a graduate of Cleveland Hts High School and attended Berklee College of Music in Boston for 3 years in the late 1970's. Tony received a Masters degree from John Carroll University in education. His musical influences include Weather Report, Chic Corea, Mahavishnu Orchestra, Miles Davis, Yes, King Crimson and many, many others. As part of CuDa, Renko & CuDa, the band released 3 CD's and performed as an opening act for such luminaries as Allan Holdsworth, Adrian Belew, Tony Levin, Carl Palmer (ELP), Ambrosia, Project Object (former Zappa members) and Scott Henderson, Jeff Berlin and Mike Clark. www.tonycuda.com

Dan Maier (keys) attended Berklee School, New England Conservatory, and studied jazz piano with Lennie Tristano, Jaki Byard, Ran Blake, and classical piano with Andreus Kuprevicius, George Haddad, and Margaret Chaloff. In NYC, Dan was a member of Blood, Sweat, and Tears, and toured with Philip Glass and Woody Herman. In Cleveland, Dan plays at the jazz club, Nighttown, where he recently led trios for Cheryl Bentine of Manhattan Transfer, Nicole Henry, Alexis Cole, Jackie Ryan, and Ann Hampton Callaway. He has worked with hundreds of world-class acts in all musical genres, and has been a member of the Cleveland Pops and Jazz Orchestra. He is currently a member of the North Coast Jazz Collective, with 3 released CD’s of original compositions, and The Mojo Big Band.

Chris Cuda (guitar) is a self-taught acoustic/electric/synth guitarist. Chris has a new release coming out this year with Kip Reed (Bass), Steve Renko (Drums), as well as other guests. Chris has recorded and/or performed with David Thomas (Rocket From The Tombs & Pere Ubu), Horns & Things, Sonny Geraci (The Outsiders), Len Berry, Tommy Roe, Freddy "Boom Boom" Cannon, Leslie Gore, Billy J. Krammer, The Shangri-La’s, Gilby Clarke (Guns & Roses, MC5, Heart), Michael Cartellone (drummer for Tommy Shaw, Damn Yankees & Lynyrd Skynyrd) Jeckyl & Hyde, Jackie Cooper (O’Jays drummer) Michael Gibbs (session w/orchestrator for Mahavishnu, Jaco, and Peter Gabriel), and Dazz Band & Beaucoup band members, and Chris's primary band - CuDa RenKo CuDa since 2006. Chris’s influences include Julian Bream, Bill DeArango, John Coltrane, Miles, James Brown, Yes, John McLaughlin, and 20th century composers.

Davey “Gravy" Kasper (Saxophones, Clarinets, Flutes and EWI), has been privileged to play with the Temptations, Al Martino, Guy Lombardo, Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra (Playing the role of "Jimmy Dorsey), Tito Puente Jr., Either Orchestra and has opened up for Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Pancho Sanchez and Tony Bennett. Kasper grew up in the suburbs of Cleveland and received his degree in music from Cleveland State University in the summer of 2006. Active on the local music scene, Kasper enjoys teaching saxophone, clarinet and flute in Downtown Cleveland and the Suburbs. A journey man musician since his early teens, Kasper is involved playing with many groups in town regularly including: Revolution Brass Band, Velvet Voyage, Shout, Ernie Krivda and the Fat Tuesday Big Band, Dan Zola Orchestra, Eddie Brunswick and the Hot Rod Lincoln's and several creative projects. Matthew Schieferstein is a drummer with over 25 years of playing experience. Having earned a Bachelor's Degree in Jazz Studies from Bowling Green State University, he has played in various musical settings from small group jazz and big band to country and heavy metal. He has shared the stage with such legends as Blue Lou Marini (Blues Brothers, Frank Zappa, SNL Band), Matt and Gunnar Nelson, Howard Johnson (SNL Band, Jaco Pastorius, Charlie Haden), Gary Mule Deer, and many others. He has performed in groups that have opened for the likes of Ted Nugent, Molly Hatchet, and Frijid Pink to name a few. Matthew draws inspiration from any musician or group, regardless of genre, that plays with conviction, honesty, and a sense of purpose. Matthew plays Pearl Drums and Sabian Cymbals.
