Jeremey Poparad and Janus Ensemble perform at BOP STOP! Tickets to attend this show are $15 each for the general public. CSU students can attend for free with student ID. This event will not be livestreamed.
In Roman mythology, Janus was the god of doors, gates, and transitions and was typically depicted as having two faces pointing in opposite directions. Taking inspiration from this imagery of connecting together contrasting things, The Janus Ensemble is a unique group that blends the sounds of a jazz combo with a classical chamber music ensemble. At the core is a guitar, bass, and drums trio with composer Jeremey Poparad playing an 8-string electric guitar. This trio is expanded with a string quartet and a woodwind quartet. In addition to the band, this concert at BOP STOP will feature a slate of guest soloists on a variety of instruments, some more associated with classical music and some more with jazz.
