Join us in welcoming Cleveland native Drew Hoschar and his sextet! Tickets to this event are $20 each. This event will also be livestreamed on BOP STOP's Facebook page at showtime. Accessing the stream is free but donations are encouraged and directly support the band.

Drew Hoschar is a young drummer hailing from Cleveland, Ohio but currently living in New York City. Drew was a seven-year member of the Tri-C Jazzfest Academy in Cleveland, where he was instructed by local heroes such as Dominick Farinacci, Ernie Krivda, Aidan Plank, Anthony Taddeo, Chris Coles, and others. He has also been instructed at Tri-C in master classes given by Christian McBride, Jerome Jennings, Karriem Riggins, John Clayton, Bill Stewart, Kendrick Scott, and many more.
Drew performed for several years with Dominick Farinacci’s Spirit of the Groove band. Spirit of the Groove is a band made up of the premier students at the Tri-C JazzFest Academy. The program culminated for him with a performance at Dizzy’s Club in May of 2022.
Some of his biggest musical influences are from people such as Elvin Jones, Tony Williams, Bill Stewart, Brian Blade, and Ari Hoenig.
Drew has studied extensively with Cleveland drummer and educator, Mark Gonder, and with New York City’s, Carmen Intorre, Jr.
Drew is a recipient of both a merit award (2022) and honorable mention award (2023) from the National YoungArts Competition.
Drew has performed at Jilly’s Music Room, Blu Jazz+, the Bop Stop, Nighttown, Dizzy’s Club and for many local festivals including Tri-C JazzFest.
Recently graduating from Hudson High School in Ohio, Drew now attends the Manhattan School of Music in New York City under the mentorship of the legendary John Riley, and regularly attends master classes instructed by the likes of Brian Blade, Jon Cowherd, Orrin Evans, Louis Hayes, Immanuel Wilkins, Allison Miller and Carmen Staaf. These experiences have influenced Drew’s cultivated style.
