Having been called a “wonderful composer” and “sophisticated player” as well as “one of the most unique guitar voices to emerge over the last decade,” Brandon Coleman is an on-the-rise and in-demand performer in the world of creative guitar playing. Based out of Cincinnati, OH, Coleman performs and composes music that is intricate, personal, and cinematic, inspired by his musical idols and his roots in the Appalachian mountains.
The Brandon Coleman Trio has been performing together for 10 years, creating a dynamic and exciting approach to playing both the standard repertoire and Coleman’s original compositions. Featuring Matt Wiles on bass and Jeff Mellott on drums, the three musicians honor the lineage of great trios such as Bill Evans, Keith Jarrett and Ahmad Jamal - focusing on texture, interplay, and dynamic rhythmic shifts.
