-----------------------
Bassist, educator, composer, and Maryland native Ian Kinnaman is an emerging musician in the NE Ohio music scene. After graduating from Youngstown State University where he studied bass with Dr. David Morgan, Ian moved to Cleveland where he has shared the stage with musicians such as Jamey Haddad, Dan Bruce, Dominick Farinacci, Amanda Powell, and Jack Schantz. He is an active sideman and member of Anthony Taddeo’s Alla Boara in addition to teaching bass at the College of Wooster. Ian’s compositions draw inspiration from the harmonies of Thelonious Monk and Wayne Shorter as well as the rhythmic ideas of Ari Hoenig. After a number of years performing at Bop Stop as a sideman, he is excited to make his Cleveland debut as a leader with the Ian Kinnaman Project.
