Tickets to attend in person are $20 each. This event will also be livestreamed on BOP STOP's Youtube Channel at showtime. Accessing the stream is free but donations are encouraged and directly support the band.
Carol Leslie's “blue-eyed soul,” is evident in her ballads when that low register grabs the heartstrings. Her cabaret experience truly shows when she puts her audience at ease. Her liaisons with top-tier musicians in NE Ohio have paid off given the incredible line-up she has put together for this show. Her CD, “Carol Leslie, Live at The Bop Stop!” is available via www.cdbaby.com.
On keys is Edward Ridley, Jr, award-winning pianist in demand across the Midwest, composer, producer, educator, a musician skilled both in jazz and musical theater. His expertise working with vocalists is self-evident, and he is a leading accompanist in the Cleveland area.
On bass is Jeff Slater, also an educator, mentor, graduate in music theory, and often seen working with Eric Everett Jazz combos, or performing Vince Guaraldii compositions with another amazing musician, Cliff Habian. His Brazilian music studies certainly help when Carol has Jobim on the setlist!
On drums is Ricky Exton, Berklee College of Music graduate, jazz studies graduate at Cuyahoga CC, house drummer, producer, and engineer. Ricky works with several bands, sought after in the NE Ohio region.
On guitar is someone whose skills are making him one of the go-to guitarists in the area, Joseph Rangel. Another degreed professional, his craft becomes clear within the first few bars of music. He is an educator, a mentor, and is often found accompanying vocalists, eg Maria DiDonato, Dane Vannatter, given his exquisite ‘ear’ and ability to play across genres.
Jim Cirillo – A native of Lyndhurst, OH, Jim’s musical training began on piano at age 10 and quickly moved to saxophone at age 11, when his love of jazz and improvised music first began to develop. Over the years, Jim has sought out diverse musical settings such as big bands, acoustic jazz combos, electric/rock groups, and tribute bands, to apply his trade, and has recently developed a love of international travel to countries such as Thailand, Australia, Cuba and the Philippines, to explore other cultures and share musical experiences. Jim enjoys “improvised music of all kinds with a soulfulness that connects to humanity,” which is a long list, including jazz, blues, R & B, soul, rock, fusion, reggae and salsa and more!
