The Moonlight Serenaders Big Band announced it’s planned benefit concert performance for the Music Settlement School taking place at The Bop Stop on Sunday, April 28, 2024 beginning at 3pm. Recognized as Northeast Ohio’s longest continuously performing Big Band, The Moonlight Serenaders will be bringing its eighteen piece big band and four vocalists for an evening of big band favorites spanning over fifty years of traditional big band music.
Tickets for this event are $15, and all tickets sales and related proceeds being donated to the Music Settlement School in behalf of the Moonlight Serenaders.
This event will also be livestreamed on BOP STOP's Youtube Channel at showtime. Accessing the stream is free but donations are encouraged and directly support the band.

The Moonlight Serenaders provide the musical memories of earlier times to multi-generations while re-introducing a whole new generation to original Big Band music, orchestrations and the highest performance professionalism.
Comprised of talented musicians and vocalists, the twenty-plus member band brings to life the sound of the original Big Band era with the rich full-sound and tunes of the world’s most popular music performed live in theaters, dance halls, society events and corporate celebrations. Appearances include sold out In-Concert performances at Gervasi Winery in Canton,.. to the Lincoln Theater in Massillon.
The band provides a perfect mixture of recognizable music composed and recorded by Glenn Miller, George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Harry James, The Dorsey Brothers, Artie Shaw, Bennie Goodman and sing along favorites from Frank Sinatra to Dean Martin.
Under the leadership of Music and Artist Director, Carl Newyear, the Serenaders program will include music from all the internationally recognized traditional big bands of Glenn Miller, Woody Herman, Bennie Goodman, The Dorsey Brothers, Duke Ellington, Harry James and others taking the audience from the 1920’ through the 1950’s. Vocal features from this era will include Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy, Tangerine, Sentimental Journey, Don’t Get Around Much Any More, The Summer Wind and others.
Appealing to audiences of all tastes and ages the program expands to more contemporary standards from the Great American Song Book, featuring the favorites Frank Sinatra, Cole Porter, Nat King Cole, Henry Mancini, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. The younger members of the audience will instantly recognize Pink Panther, Candyman, Route 66, Moon River and Days of Wine & Roses.
