The Danjo Jazz Orchestra has entertained audiences across Northeast Ohio for over 10 years. Originally founded by bassist Dan Angotti in May of 2010, the band is now directed by Cleveland native trombonist, composer, and arranger Andrew Wegierski. Under Andrew’s leadership, the Danjo Jazz Orchestra has steadily performed around Northeast Ohio at venues such as Blu Jazz+, Jilly's Music Room, BOP STOP, and the Venice Cafe, among others. The band also released one EP entitled Danjo. The recording showcases Danjo's stylistic versatility, including selections from the Buddy Rich Big Band, Maynard Ferguson, Count Basie Orchestra. and an original chart of Andrew's, "Spoon Bag." Danjo is available for listening on all major streaming platforms.

Today, the band continues to forge onward as a distinct musical voice in the Northeast Ohio scene. With an ever-expanding musical library, the Danjo Jazz Orchestra’s mission is to push the boundaries of the contemporary big band, while also maintaining the legacy of the great bands who established the big band tradition.

Olivia Van Goor (raised in Hudson, OH) is a Detroit-based jazz vocalist, band leader, arranger, and composer. She has built a reputation for not only being an excellent vocalist, but a creative force to be reckoned with. Her hard work has yielded two EPs, first “When the Shadows Fall” in 2021 and the second being “Don’t Be Mad At Me” in August of 2023. These recordings have taken her to tour in surrounding major cities such as Ann Arbor, Toledo, Cleveland, Columbus, Southbend, Chicago, and Pittsburgh. Additionally, she received “Best Vocalist” for the Preservation of Jazz Excellence Award in Detroit, nominations by the Detroit Music Awards and recognition by many Michigan-based publications.
