Gabriel Heinemann is a saxophonist, composer, and improviser based in Chicago. Originally from Madison, Gabriel’s mentorship from local greats such as Pete Ross, Paul Hastil, and Nick Moran led him to Oberlin Conservatory, where he studied with NEA Jazz Master Gary Bartz and learned from other luminaries including Dan Wall, Billy Hart, and Paul Samuels. Since graduating in 2022, Gabriel has continued his musical development through connecting with musicians across Chicago’s jazz, improvised music, and rock communities.
Owen H. Frankel is a bassist, vocalist, and composer based in Chicago, Illinois. In 2022, he graduated from the Oberlin Conservatory of Music where he studied with Peter Dominguez and Gerald Cannon. While a student at Oberlin, Owen was a founding member of groups Slampson and The Music Quintet. He has also released much music under his own name that highlights him as an adept and unique indie singer-songwriter. An in demand improvising musician in Chicago, Owen can be seen playing regularly at venues around the city and beyond with musicians such as the Vincent Davis, the Jamal Damien trio, and Ernest Dawkins; as well as his recently formed project, Our Mutt.
Jeremy McCabe is a drummer and songwriter based in Cleveland, Ohio. Coming up learning from local greats such as Paul Samuels, Carmen Castaldi, Anthony Taddeo, John Stebal, and others, Jeremy’s passion for music led him to Oberlin Conservatory, where he studied with Billy Hart and Jamey Haddad and graduated in 2021. Since then, he has been an active sideman on the Cleveland jazz scene, sharing the stage with the likes of Dan Bruce, Bryan Kennard, Aidan Plank, Kevin Robert Martinez, and many more.
